Failure to Fortune
Since the creation of Mickey Mouse, the Walt Disney Company has shared hundreds of comical cartoon characters with the world. These simple drawings led their creator, Walt Disney, to establish a business empire through movies, merchandise, and amusement parks. But these extravaganzas never would have happened had Walt not spent the majority of his formative years in Kansas City, Missouri. His success in California was predicated by his failure in Kansas City: the people he met and connections they formed are what led Disney to create an eponymous corporation that completely revolutionized the entertainment industry.
